Obama Presidente

God Bless Obama!

Few times in our lives we have the feeling of living a historic moment. September 11th, for example, left no doubt in anyone. Today I am having the same feeling with an event which, fortunately, has nothing of tragedy. I have just watched at CNN that the state of Ohio gave victory to Obama, implying that for sure he will be announced President of USA in the next few hours. It is a historic moment that bring us only positive expectations. The strength of the symbolism that this represents is as intense as the American power (even with the economics crisis). His African root, his humble childhood, his well succeed personal life and his speech of changing provokes what was unthinkable few ago: the world has a better look to US. Besides the symbolism that I mentioned, the world looks to the U.S. with admiration due to the demonstrating that it is a land of opportunities, looks with respect due to the strength of its democracy and looks with hope due to the message that Obama invokes. Everybody wants to believe in him and in what he wants to do. The world is open for that US becomes a leader in the battlefield of wars such as poverty, inequality, intolerance as for divers ideas and ecological devastation brought by perverse economic mechanisms running Today. The greatest triumph of Obama comes from this big global reservoir of hope, but that instantly becomes his greatest challenge: not to allow this immense hope disappear. We can only pray. God Bless Obama!
